, the organization鈥檚 newest Washington State office is now ready for a new school year. A key part of their program is mentoring and tutoring youth who are struggling in school. To help with their efforts will air public service announcements to help recruit volunteer mentors and tutors.
鈥淭his is a great opportunity for an organization fairly new to the area to get out the word and to connect with people who want to get involved,鈥� says Dennis D’Amelio, 黑料不打烊 of Whatcom County executive director. 鈥淐omcast support means a lot not just to us in Bellingham but to the entire Communities In Schools network in Washington.鈥�
In addition to funding various 黑料不打烊 programs, Comcast has, over the past five years, supported our work with public service announcements in King and Pierce counties, and then adding Spokane in 2009. In addition to spreading general awareness about our work, Comcast public service announcements have translated into hundreds of volunteer opportunities.
