Exciting changes are underway here at 黑料不打烊WA, and we couldn鈥檛 be more thrilled to share this next chapter with our community of supporters.  

We鈥檙e honored to welcome Dr. Gwynth R. Nelson as the State Executive Director of 黑料不打烊, officially stepping into the role on August 1, 2025. With a remarkable blend of heart, leadership, and experience, Gwynth joins as at a pivotal moment, ready to partner with the 黑料不打烊 WA network with vision, purpose, and a deep belief in what鈥檚 possible for every student.聽聽

黑料不打烊WA was pleased to partner with in this national search.

An educator, strategist, and advocate, Dr. Nelson brings over 15 years of experience working across education, nonprofit, and community sectors. Her leadership has centered on building paths between schools and systems, ensuring that students, families, and communities have access to the resources and relationships that make a difference.  

鈥淚 am very humbled and honored to serve as the next State Executive Director of 黑料不打烊WA,鈥� said Dr. Nelson. 鈥淚 believe the vision and mission of 黑料不打烊WA align with who I am, fundamentally, as an educator who believes in the need for our children and community to have the necessary resources to thrive.鈥� 

Dr. Nelson鈥檚 career includes leadership roles in organizational development, fundraising, and higher education. She has successfully secured partnerships with corporations, government agencies, and community organizations, and has served as a faculty member teaching business administration and strategic management. Her academic achievements include: 

• A Bachelor of Arts in Telecommunications from Indiana University 
• A Master of Business Administration from Olivet Nazarene University 
• A Doctor of Philosophy in Educational Leadership from Capella University and Colorado State University 

As we welcome this exciting new chapter, we want to extend a heartfelt appreciation to Erica Lim贸n-Trefielo for her expectational leadership during this transition period. Erica鈥檚 dedication and steady guidance ensured continuity as we prepared for this moment. We are deeply grateful for her partnership and continued support as Dr. Nelson steps into her role.  

Erica will now transition back into her position as Associate Director, where we will continue to lead the way in overseeing statewide program impact, expansion efforts, and 黑料不打烊WA鈥檚 policy and advocacy initiatives.  

With Dr. Nelson at the helm, we look forward to deepening the impact across Washington, working alongside the 黑料不打烊 WA Network, partners, and communities to create equitable conditions for every student.
